I enjoy helping people clarify their ideas, through my work as an editor.
My university background in the field of ecology has provided me with a broad foundation in scientific presentation styles, and I often work on academic papers and books.
I have considerable experience in proofreading academic writing for ESL (English as a Second Language) clients, with several papers subsequently published.
As well as a wealth of general knowledge, I have particular expertise in anthropology, psychedelic studies, and Western esotericism.

Breaking Convention
As an Executive Director of this world-renowned educational charity, I have been part of the core organising comittee for several events including three major conferences, most recently in 2023 at the University of Exeter with 1,400 delegates.
I curate the newsletter of Breaking Convention, sharing the latest in psychedelic research findings in addition to events, surveys and studies.
Psychedelic Press
The Psychedelic Press is an independent community book publisher, with a focus on the role of psychedelic substances in history, science, and culture.
I have edited many of their publications, including the quarterly journal and several non-fiction books.
The Universe Machine
My publishing imprint has eleven titles, which I have seen through all stages of production.
Publishing thought-provoking books since 2015, The Universe Machine celebrates an actively engaged mode of living, deliberately paying attention to the oddities of the everyday.
We all like a bit of magic and wonder in our lives; these authors have found their own paths into otherworld realms, and would love to share their journeys with you.
I enjoy helping people to present their ideas more effectively. I call this work ‘editing’, but it is more an act of encouragement and refinement. I want their voice to speak out and inspire others.

About me
Nikki has edited many of the most important books of the psychedelic renaissance. She is currently an Executive Director of Breaking Convention, a charity which holds Europe’s largest conference on psychedelics. She likes trees, and finds her Ecology degree comes in very handy when contacting the faery realms.
